Used in Multi-Media filters. Due to its relatively medium density, it will remain above heavier media such as sand or Garnet providing an excellent pre-filtration layer.
Anthracite media is a graded crushed coal specifically selected for water treatment.

Activated Carbon
Granular Activated Carbon is used for a variety of water treatment applications. This includes the removal of chlorine, sediments organics, taste, color, and order. The large granular surface area, has a tremendous capacity to adsorb impurities, resulting in clean and fresh water.
This is a select grade of bituminous coal with high carbon, low ash content. Meets American water works association standard B 604-96.
Birm
Birm is an efficient media that acts as a catalyst to enhance the reaction between dissolved oxygen in water and iron compounds. Birm is insoluble and is not consumed during operation giving it advantage over other iron removal.
Calcite
Calcite is a crushed and screened white marble media which can inexpensively be used to neutralize acidic or low pH waters to a neutral, less corrosive effluent. It is a naturally occurring material. It provides slower reaction for controlled pH correction.
